In Musical Theatre, you’ll take classes in acting, musical theatre styles, music theory, dance, piano, and voice lessons, giving you a wide range of skills to utilize throughout your career. We encourage you to become a quadruple threat! You’ll develop skills in acting, singing, dancing, and behind-the-scenes. Many Musical Theatre students also study production, design, directing, creative writing, and education.
There are three concentrations – Musical Theatre, Acting and Theatre Production – available within the Theatre major. No matter what concentration you choose, the program has enough flexibility for you to follow your passions. No matter what concentration you choose, we want our students to be well-rounded theatre artists!

Studying Musical Theater at Heidelberg was the right choice for me because there is just so much to pursue, from acting techniques to music training to dance and movement. I got to learn everything about theater, onstage and off, all while also getting real experience on the stage. Through this program, I gained all the skills it takes to be the most versatile performer I can be.
